Dartmoor Expedition

3rd - 7th April 2003

INTRODUCTION

Over Easter a group of 5 Explorer Scouts, Leaders and our very own AIC of Explorers went on a three day back-packing expedition to Dartmoor. Despite the fact that 60% of the contingent had never been to Dartmoor before, the venture was a big success. It provided the Explorers with an ideal opportunity to learn all aspects of camping such as Camp Layout & Management, Orienteering, Route Planning and safe Hiking Practises.

Mike is our party leader and a Dartmoor Veteran.

Robert has been to Dartmoor many times before.

Although an accustomed hiker this was his first time in Dartmoor.

Adam is an Explorer Scout. Dartmoor was his first real expedition.

The newest addition to Douglas Explorers. Had never been on expedition before but his smile says it all.
